My name is Dr. Melody Duckins
I am a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, auntie, sister, and friend. My professional journey spans multiple roles and countries, including international and domestic educator, administrator, author, coach, artist, and community activist.

The story of how it all began
Get to Know Me
Driven by a deep sense of purpose, I founded my own coaching business specializing in life, leadership, and student success coaching. With an educational background that includes a Bachelor's in Music, a Master's in Education and Psychology, and a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, I bring a wealth of knowledge to my practice. Additionally, I hold accredited certifications in Life, Career, Leadership, and Student Success coaching.
I spent 8 years in China as an educator, cultural awareness leadership coach for students and faculty, and an administrator. Here is a photo of me leading a university workshop focused on bringing Chinese-born students and Western-born faculty together to discuss teaching and learning cultural differences. As a result, both the students and faculty gained invaluable knowledge which brought them closer together.
Currently, I also serve as a Student Success and Leadership Coach at a non-profit organization. In this role, I work primarily with HBCUs and PBIs through the United Negro College Fund, focusing on black and brown men and women. My mission is to integrate coaching methodologies into both professional and personal practices, empowering learners, educators, and administrators alike to achieve their goals. The connections I forge and the mutual learning experiences I share with my clients have been profoundly rewarding and continue to leave a lasting impact on my life.
The decision to start my own coaching business stemmed from a desire to extend my expertise to a broader audience of black and brown men and women. My goal is to empower them to live their best and most authentic lives.
